UN Women Multi Country Office – Caribbean (MCO) is implementing a programme to increase access, availability and completeness of quality data to support sustainable development in Barbados. The agency’s particular focus in this programme, is on unpaid care and domestic work data. Examples of unpaid care and domestic work include housework, childcare and care for adults, including the elderly, sick and persons with disabilities.
The MCO will be hosting a series of focus group discussions with mothers, fathers, youth, retired persons, faith-based organizations, and persons with disabilities to assess the impact of unpaid care work on families. In this regard, the MCO wishes to ascertain a perspective from members of BARP and acquire their feedback on what policies, programmes and services are needed to address this challenge with a view to promoting shared responsibility in households and families.
Here is a link to a short survey that would allow the MCO to organize persons who would be interested in participating and for follow up https://forms.microsoft.com/r/i5eXNhe8mZ . (Complete this survey by Friday September 27, 2024)
Further to the above, UN Women, is also creating a documentary as part of its training and education campaign on shared responsibilities for unpaid care work. Persons who agree to participate will be asked to give permission to be videotaped and for their photos to be taken during the focus group discussion.
